What really helps children and young people get through difficult times?
What gives them strength, a sense of influence and the belief that they can cope?
We invite you to “Roots and Wings” – a special conference organised to mark the 20th anniversary of Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom ULICA.
This meeting will be an opportunity to look at psychological resilience not through the lens of problems and shortcomings, but through what works, what supports and what we can do to have more of it.

For the first time, we will present
the study results.
After 20 years of our work,
we will look to the future.
We will take care of our
Roots and Wings
One of the highlights of the conference will be the premiere presentation of the results of the 1st edition of the study of the psychological resilience of children and young people in the Silesian Voivodeship.
This is the first such broad look at the psychological resilience of young people in our region. The results will help us see more clearly what is an important resource for children and young people today, what helps them cope with difficulties and where to look for further opportunities to strengthen their resilience.
But we don't want to give everything away just yet.
Some of the results may surprise us. That is why, instead of talking about them before the conference, we want to discover them together with you.
For 20 years, the ULICA Foundation has met thousands of children, young people and adults, looking for what helps when things are hard.
During the conference, we will combine these experiences with the study results and the perspective of children, young people, parents, foster families, teachers and specialists.
However, this will not be a conference where you simply sit and listen. There will be questions. There will be stories. There will be data. There will be surprises. There will be room for your own discoveries.
And above all, there will be the question of what we can do next. Because 20 years of experience is no reason to look back.It is a good moment to ask: What will we build over the next 20 years?
We want to talk about what gives roots: a sense of security, belonging, self-worth and support from others. And about what allows wings to grow: independence, agency, the courage to try and the belief that even when things are hard, you can take the next step.
The conference will be a day full of inspiration, practical knowledge and new perspectives on supporting the psychological resilience of children and young people.
What will you take away from this event?

You will learn about the results of the 1st edition of the study of the psychological resilience of children and young people in the Silesian Voivodeship and find out what they say about young people's resources and needs.
You will hear the stories and experiences of people who already know what works, and discover solutions you can use in your everyday work and relationships with children.
You will have space to pause, share experiences and look at your work from a new perspective.

And above all, you will leave the conference with concrete inspiration, a new idea and a first small step that you can take the very next day, for yourself, your class, your school, your family or a particular child.

Who is our programme for
Come and learn about the results of the 1st edition of the study of the psychological resilience of children and young people in the Silesian Voivodeship. You will see what young people themselves say about what helps them cope withdifficulties, where they draw strength from and which resources are worth strengthening. And then you can look at the results from your own perspective:
Teachers and form tutors, you will find inspiration on how to support psychological resilience in the classroom and in your everyday work with pupils.
Psychologists, school counsellors, therapists and specialists, you will learn about data that can be a starting point for discussing young people's needs and planning support activities.
Trainers and people working on the development of children and young people, you will see which resources are worth developing and be inspired by the experiences of others who work with young people.
Parents and foster parents, you will get to know young people's perspective better and find out what can help them through difficult moments.
Head teachers and representatives of local government or community organisations, you will see what already works and where to focus attention in order to create good conditions for the development and psychological resilience of children and young people.
Because although each of us may have a different role, we can all influence what roots and wings young people are given.
SPECIAL GUEST
Dr Ben Furman
Joining us at the “Roots and Wings” conference will be Dr Ben Furman, a Finnish psychiatrist, psychotherapist and one of the world's best-known advocates of the solution-focused approach, and for the ULICA Foundation, above all, our friend and long-standing partner in developing ways of supporting children and young people.
For years, Ben has inspired us to look at children not through the lens of problems, but through their resources, possibilities and what helps them cope with difficulties.
During the conference, he will give a special talk on the psychological resilience of children and young people.

Neo Energy Group.
Neo Energy Group, as one of the leading developers and operators of renewable energy sources (RES), is continuously involved in sustainable development activities. The company also takes part in social initiatives that not only promote the well-being of children and young people but also build their psychological resilience – a protective shield and a key element of their health and prosperity. By supporting the ULICA Foundation and its Centre, NEG actively contributes to the development of ecopsychology and Dr Ben Furman's ideas. It also shows that responsible business and sustainable development mean investing not only in technology but also in people – especially the young generation. The innovation that is part of Neo Energy Group's DNA is also visible in the work of the Foundation and the concept it promotes, which uses modern tools to rebuild and strengthen the psychological resilience of the youngest. As a result, children's problems begin to be seen differently. They become processes of learning new skills that help overcome difficulties and initiate the process of desired change. Making these initiatives available to local communities is further proof that Neo Energy Group understands and takes very seriously its social role, which has the power to drive positive change. By supporting the ULICA Foundation, the company joins forces with those working for a better tomorrow, in which every child – regardless of where they live – has the chance to develop healthily in harmony with the world around them
