The Kids' Skills method in working with neurodivergent people
The idea behind the training In search of power
The training was designed for specialists working with people with diverse developmental needs. During 10 hours of intensive sessions, participants will learn practical ways of individualising their work, based on following the needs of the client, pupil or child, with their well-being in mind.
The training will make it possible to develop the communication, organisational and methodological skills needed to effectively support people with ASD, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence.
Participants will gain knowledge of universal design for support, and will learn how to give compliments, build agency and monitor the effects of both individual and group work.
A condition of participation is holding the title of Kids' Skills Practitioner, which guarantees a high level of content and an exchange of experience at an advanced level. It is an excellent opportunity to raise your competences and more effectively support the development of neurodivergent people in various work settings.
What will I learn during the training?
Training programme
This is a comprehensive, advanced training course that extends and deepens the Kids' Skills method, providing specialists with the tools and knowledge needed to work effectively with neurodivergent people, supporting their development and helping them overcome difficulties in an empathetic, resource-focused way.
During the training, participants will:
- They will learn ways of individualising work based on following the needs of the client/pupil/child, with their well-being at its core,
- They will have the opportunity to practise carrying out the individual steps of the method during the training,
- They will gain skills (communication, organisational, methodological) for working with neurodivergent people (including those with ASD and ADHD) and with diverse groups, including basic knowledge of both individual and group processes,
- They will discuss the principles and application of universal design using the assumptions of the Kids' Skills method,
- They will gain/expand their skills in complimenting individuals and groups,
- They will gain skills in building the agency and belief of individuals and groups that they are able to make the effort of change that leads to overcoming problems,
- They will learn ways of gaining insight into both individual and group work, and of monitoring the effectiveness of implementing the method.
Basis of the training
The training is based on Dr Ben Furman's Kids' Skills method.
The training is delivered at an advanced level, which means that workshop participants may only be people holding the title of Kids' Skills Practitioner.

Training length: 10 training hours
Training venue: The training will take place in person at the Dr Ben Furman Motivation and Prevention Centre,

The training is for: Professionals, teachers, educators, trainers, therapists, school counsellors, psychologists, parents and foster parents
The training price includes: 10 hours of training, coffee breaks, training materials, certificate of completion.
Training price: PLN 450
All income from the training goes to the statutory activities of Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom ULICA

Training outcomes
During the training, participants will acquire skills that enable them to work with a diverse team/group as well as individually, using information and adapting it to the specific nature of the group and the capabilities of the individual.

Ambassadors of the Kids' Skills method, which they have practised for years in individual and group sessions and in work with teams with diverse needs - both in and outside school. Specialists whose combined strengths create a unique synergy of knowledge, experience and passion. Thanks to their many years of commitment in scientific, teaching and personal terms, both trainers are superbly prepared to pass on practical knowledge and inspiration to all educators who wish to deepen their competences in supporting people on the autism spectrum and beyond. Their training is not just theory but above all proven methods, deep understanding and empathy, which will help effectively build bridges of understanding in the world of neurodiversity and disability.
