COURSE IN WORKING WITH ADOLESCENTS
Specialist training
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Broadening knowledge of the specific nature of adolescence (ages 10-21) and of young people's development in the context of the family system.
Improving the assessment of the situation the client – a teenager – is in: their needs, their expectations, but also their capabilities / taking into account both resources and limitations as well as the family, school and other contexts.
Developing the skills of supporting teenagers and their families, accompanying them and activating their natural resources for better coping, while refining one's own stance of neutrality and not-knowing.
Presenting the possibilities of using modified techniques in the face of various adolescent problems, e.g. anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, eating problems.
Broadening knowledge and strengthening competences regarding difficulties arising from the multifaceted nature of gender identities (including searching for one's identity / experimenting / questioning).
Strengthening one's own competences useful in working with teenage clients and their families, and acquiring the skills to cooperate with the teenager's family with a focus on strengthening relationships and competences.
Training modules
The Course in Working with Adolescents comprises 3 training sessions, during which 4 thematic modules will be delivered. The entire programme is planned for 80 teaching hours, including workshop sessions, participants' own work and practical elements related to working with young people.

(including gender identity),
2. Gender identity and its implications in the school counsellor's/psychologist's office,
3. Tools for working with non-heteronormative, non-binary and transgender children,
4. Working with parents – how to invite them to cooperate.

3. Tools for strengthening family relationships and the influence of the child and teenager.

TRAINER: IZABELLA WARCHOŁ
A graduate of the Institute of Social Prevention and Resocialisation at the University
of Warsaw. She is a certified SFBT psychotherapist, an SFBT trainer – running training courses for the Centre for Solution-Focused Brief Therapy – and an SFBT supervisor – providing supervision within the Centre for Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (IASTI certificates – International Alliance of Solution Focused Training Institutes).
She is also a member of the Content Council of PSTTSR (Polish Association of Solution-Focused Brief Therapists) and a member of the Content Council of CTSR (Centre for Solution-Focused Brief Therapy). She has completed numerous supplementary and advanced training courses (Violence Prevention Course, Psychological Support Course, Crisis Intervention, EFT Couples Therapy, etc.). She runs a therapy practice whose main clients are young people and their families
PARTICIPANTS
The training is for: Specialists, teachers, educators, trainers, therapists, school counsellors, psychologists. We invite people who have completed Level I SFBT training and/or hold the title of KIDS' SKILLS Practitioner (training completed at Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom ULICA).
TRAINING FEE
The training price includes: 80 hours of training, coffee breaks, training materials, certificate.

All income from the training goes to the statutory activities of Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom ULICA
